Sarah Tomley ukcp
psychotherapeutic counsellor, integrative supervisor, IFS Therapist (LEVEL 3)
I have offered counselling to clients in Suffolk and Cambridge since 2012, and for the last six years have specialised in IFS (Internal Family Systems), because it offers a unique way of understanding ourselves and a model that people can use really effectively outside of the therapy sessions. IFS recognises this body we live in as a highly complex system that can only be truly understood from the inside. By getting to know every part of your personality in detail, it's possible to finally realise one part of you wants to do one thing, while another is criticising you for thinking that. Or why one part is hurting, while another is telling you to ignore it. What would it be like to be able to step inside and solve these constant dilemmas? IFS provides a model for working with every part of yourself, from frustrated or critical parts, to impulsive anti-social ones, and even those you're desperately trying to ignore or pretend don't exist. The goal in IFS therapy is to develop an integrated, Self-led system, where you'll feel more at ease in yourself and be able to meet life's challenges with curiosity, clarity and confidence.

LUCY ETHERINGTON UKCP
ACCREDITED COUNSELLOR, HYPNOTHERAPIST AND WRITING COACH MBACP, UKCP
As a qualified hypnotherapist, I can help you to explore the root causes of any issues you’re struggling with and create a more effective and supportive mindset. Hypnotherapy is useful for working with negative behavioural habits or thought patterns, improving self-esteem, and for unblocking unhelpful beliefs that sabotage your life.
Hypnotherapy enables us to bypass the critical thoughts that hinder us and work deep in the unconscious, where it is said at least 99% of our daily brain activity takes place. If you feel you often do things without thinking, you’re right. Shining a light on our internal processes is the goal of all forms of psychotherapy, but hypnotherapy can achieve this much faster than other ways of working. It is completely safe and voluntary at all times - it is nothing like stage hypnotherapy! When we first meet, we will discuss whether counselling or hypnotherapy – or a mixture of both – will bring about the changes you're looking for.
Lucy is the author of Who the Hell is Melanie Klein? (Bowden & Brazil, 2020)
